GRAMMY Award Winning Producer and Recording Artist

Badlands ... The New CD

In this follow up CD to Tingstad’s 2006 GRAMMY nominated Southwest, there are layers of American fingerstyle guitar over a solid bed of crunchy twangy telecaster and infectious grooves.

Badlands features an abundance of dobro, steel guitars, fiddle and shamanic drumming all tied together with the help of Cindy CashdollarNancy Rumbel and Byron Metcalf.

Relaxed but not wimpy, this recording has a slightly menacing message that the desert is a beautiful and spiritual place, but you can also get in big trouble out there. Thinking about his boots, snakes and that empty tequila bottle, Tingstad has certainly captured the essence of the "place" in his songs ... New age cowboy with a punch.

... Eric has taken a country sound, touched it with his chamber music aesthetic and added just enough trail dust to make it earthy and real.  John Diliberto - Echoes

A few years ago I teamed up with Luna Guitars to help endorse their

Henna Guitar. Since then I have used the Henna on many of my

productions. It was used extensively on the recording of Badlands. It

has a wonderful sound that lends itself well to the style of recordings

I do. It was set up by Mike Lull at Guitar Works and so it plays like budda!

However to make room for the "Southwest" inspired guitar that Luna is

making, I would like to pass on the Luna Henna I used to record Badlands to one of you.

So with each purchase of Badlands you will be entered into the raffle drawing happening later in the spring.

As well as writing, producing and recording his own music, Eric is actively involved in the careers of other artists. Most recently he has produced Tingstad and Rumbel, Narayan & Janet, The Halyards, The Road Trip Relief Squad and Louis Landon. More on his recording studio and music production services can be found at Cheshire Studios
